Devices define an adventure
A device is more than a visual shell. Its roster controls which eggs are offered, which partners can appear and which evolution routes are available.
Device-inspired selections
The library draws from several eras of Digital Monster virtual pets. Selections inspired by classic Digital Monster, Pendulum, later color devices and other lines preserve separate rosters instead of mixing every monster into one generic pool.
Original rosters remain distinct
When a device offers its original roster, that roster is treated as built-in game content. Availability can depend on the game release and account permissions. It is not the same system as uploading or selecting a custom roster.
Optional custom rosters
Community rosters may package their own egg, monster sprites, backgrounds and evolution data. They are labeled separately so players can understand when an experience comes from custom content rather than an original device-inspired selection.
Choosing a roster
- Choose by egg or monster line if you already have a preferred partner.
- Choose by device family if you want a progression closer to a particular virtual pet era.
- Use the Field Guide to review discoveries after raising more than one line.
- Keep stored partners when exploring a different device through the partner registry.
